About George Peters and Melanie Walker
An early fascination with sailing led George Peters to work with wind and kites. He spent 25 years making kites, banners, and other wind-related sculptures before getting involved with sculptural and installation works. George attended Fullerton College in California, the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, and the Aegina Art Center in Aegina Greece. He has had many artistic pursuits, including painting, sculpture, animation, and much more.
Melanie Walker attributes her artistic eye to the mentoring of her father, photographer Todd Walker. After receiving degrees at San Francisco State University and Florida State University, Melanie taught photography, painting, printmaking, and other arts-based courses at universities across the country. As a celebrated artist with noted public installations, Melanie says that through her art, she strives for a sense of celebration of the human spirit through seeing something as if for the first time.
