About Jonathon Clowes
Jonathan Clowesâ artistic pursuits are rooted in his childhood love of sailing. His early easthetic influences grew from nature, the graceful curves of sea-faring vessels, sails, and the ocean.
Later, Jonathan studied at MIT, Bostonâs Museum School, and the Portland School of Art. Now he spends time in the boat yards of New England, where he says, âone really learns to appreciate craftsmanship.â
Since 1995, Jonathan has worked hand-in-hand with Evelyn Clowes, his wife and artistic partner. Evelynâs work as an ordained minister brings a celebration of life, nature, and color to the coupleâs sculptures.
